According to one source, based on a DNA test, these are the homes of my ancestors:
Region | Jul 2024 | Aug 2023 | Oct 2020 | |
---|---|---|---|---|
France (Canada) | 34% | 7% | 26% | |
Germanic Europe | 25% | 4% | ||
northwestern Europe (England, Belgium) | 18% | 33% | 40% | |
Norway | 12% | 15% | 14% | |
Scotland | 5% | 29% | 15% | |
Indigenous Americas (North America) | 2% | 2% | 1% | |
Sardinia | 2% | |||
Ashkenazi Jews | 1% | 1% | 2% | |
Sweden | 1% | 5% | 2% | |
Wales | 4% |
It's been interesting to see how the above data has changed in the few years since I sent in my DNA. They said that while DNA cannot change, their knowledge of ancestral regions and the data available does indeed change. For example, originally, the prominent region of my ancestry was northwestern Europe (including Belgium) which was at 40%; now that region is only at 18% of my ancestry. And while France was my 2nd highest representation at 26%, it's now the first at 34%.
For my ongoing research, I'm interested to know more about my Crevier family history, especially if it helps me to connect the Creviers on my Mom's side of the family with the Creviers on my Dad's side of the family. And I'm interested in learning more about the Creviere's (with the "e" on the end of their name).
Are you and I related? Drop me a line some time. Let me know how you're doing.
